Don is a modern suburban dad just trying to raise his kids and get through the day with a bit of money in the bank and a scrap of dignity intact.
With a unique style that can best be described as frenetic and engaging, Don has recently taken his smart, savvy, and highly-caffeinated comedy to the stage at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA, for the taping of his new Showtime one-hour special titled “Ask Your Mom.” In his first nationally released concert special, Don delivers a winning hour of clever, true-to-life “he’s talking about my family up there” comedy that manages to be adult-smart yet family-friendly.
Joining Don is the very funny Amanda Cohen. Amanda is a middle-age single woman who is definitely nobody’s mom. She’s your best nightmare: a fearless feminist with a sharp sense of irony who will challenge your assumptions about women of a certain age, while still relating to all ages. She’s hosted, showcased, featured, and headlined all over the U.S. She was a finalist in the U.S. Comedy Competition and also a finalist in the Clean Comedy Challenge in Carson City, NV.
And if that wasn’t already enough, we also have the wonderfully funny Freddy Kuhn. Freddy can be seen performing regularly throughout a variety of OC & LA clubs. His low-key delivery, instant likability, and comedic observations, has made him an audience favorite wherever he performs.
Our big show on September 11th will be hosted by the multi-talented Doug Starks. If you combine the comedic styling of Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy, throw in the smooth singing voice of Johnny Mathis, add the tap-dancing skills of Gene Kelly and the musical talents of Wayne Newton, you’ve just entered the world of Doug Starks.
We look forward to seeing you on the first of many nights of comedy at the Voco! This is going to be an amazing so please don’t miss it, and don’t attend alone. You’re going to need someone to help you up when you fall on the floor laughing.
