Taking place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 as part of the historic Fiesta de las Golondrinas, this beloved event honors the annual return of the swallows to Mission San Juan Capistrano on St. Joseph’s Day, March 19.

The day begins with a lively Old West–style parade, celebrating the community’s heritage and the swallows’ return from their winter home in Argentina. Following the parade, the Mercado Street Fair offers a full day of family fun with food, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as street closures go into effect by 10:00 a.m., and the parade begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. It’s a festive, full-day celebration of history, culture, and community in the heart of San Juan Capistrano.
