Directed and Musically Directed by Damien Lorton, this production is set to captivate audiences from April 10 to April 26, 2026, at the historic GEM Theatre in Garden Grove. The opening night for the media is Saturday, April 11, 2026. Pre-show Gala at 7:00PM, Performance at 8:00PM.

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Widely considered to be Jason Robert Brown’s masterpiece, The Last Five Years is a Drama Desk winner and was named one of TIME Magazine's ten best shows of 2001.

The cast features Courtney Hays as Cathy and Hayden Mangum as Jamie.

In addition to Direction/Musical Direction by Damien Lorton, the creative team for OMP’s production of THE LAST 5 YEARS includes Scenic and Prop Design by Victor Crisafulli, Sound Design by Shannon Callahan, Lighting Design by Jon Hyrkas. Musician credits include Nick Bravo as Piano/Conductor.

Performances run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
