His captivating solo acoustic performances are comprised of both original compositions and elaborate arrangements of great classics from the Italian and international tradition.
His guitar style is very personal, derived from the diverse musical experiences Alberto has in rock, pop and jazz as a session player and record producer.
Incorporating fingerpicking, flatpicking, some looping, improvisation and singing, Alberto can transform a single guitar into an orchestra, sing and solo on top of it with an electric guitar sound, all on the acoustic!
His repertoire ranges from Italian classics like Volare's Roma Nun Fa La Stupida Stasera to The Beatles and Sting, from Stevie Wonder and Motown music to jazz classics like All of me and Cantaloupe Island. His own compositions for solo guitar and full blown rock songs complete the picture of a unique live experience.
Alberto’s voice has been often compared to Sting’s for sound and agility, and his songs have been praised by the likes of Nile Rodgers (Guitarist and producer for Madonna, Duran Duran and Bowie to name a few) who said after listening to the album “Home”: “the record is killing, such great musicianship!”
His acoustic solo arrangements are very personal, derived from the different musical experiences Alberto has in rock, jazz, country and pop as a session player. Yet they're rooted in the style of the great Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel. He digs into complex arrangements of Italian and American classics, translating them on the guitar (Georgia on my mind, Volare, 'O Sole Mio), picking up clever harmonic movements from those great arrangers and composers and making them his own, on the six string.
